Catherine Ingraham

Catherine Ingraham è un’illustre teorica, professoressa di architettura e autrice che ha contribuito a formulare importanti dibattiti nel campo dell’architettura negli ultimi vent’anni. Ha ottenuto il suo PhD presso la Johns Hopkins University. La Prof. Ingraham è stata tra i curatori della rivista Assemblage dal 1991 al 1998 e ha pubblicato oltre 80 saggi sull’architettura contemporanea e la sua teoria. Tra i suoi libri ci sono Architecture, Animal, Human: The Asymmetrical Condition (Routledge, 2006), Architecture and the Burdens of Linearity (Yale University Press, 1998), e Restructuring Architectural Theory (Northwestern University Press, 1989). Tra i suoi progetti attuali di scrittura ci sono i libri Architecture, Property and the Pursuit of Happiness (su invito di Point Series per Princeton University Press, in via di pubblicazione) e Plasticity (su invito di Writing Architecture series per MIT Press, in via di pubblicazione). Ingraham è stata titolare di una Cattedra di insegnamento presso il Dipartimento di Architettura al Pratt Institute dal 1998 al 2006 e continua il suo insegnamento nel Graduate Program. Catherine Ingraham is a prominent theoretician, professor of architecture and writer who has helped formulate seminal debates in architecture over the past twenty years. She received her Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Ingraham was an editor of Assemblage Journal from 1991 – 1998 and has published over eighty essays on contemporary architecture and theory. Her books include Architecture, Animal, Human: The Asymmetrical Condition (Routledge, 2006), Architecture and the Burdens of Linearity (Yale University Press, 1998), and Restructuring Architectural Theory (Northwestern University Press, 1989). Current book projects include Architecture, Property and the Pursuit of Happiness (invited by Point Series at Princeton University Press, forthcoming) and Plasticity (invited by Writing Architecture series at MIT Press, forthcoming). Ingraham was Chair of the Graduate Architecture department at Pratt Institute from 1998-2006 and continues as a Professor of Architecture in the Graduate Program. She has lectured extensively at national and international schools of architecture and taught as a visiting professor at Harvard, Princeton, and Columbia University.
